The best jumble game to open in a browser right now is the daily Jumble in TechTwitter IO's Fun & Games section: a short round of scrambled tech buzzwords, each with a clue from that morning's news. After it come the classic Jumble titles on the Chicago Tribune's free games site, and one letter-wheel game on Mayavoo for when the dailies run out.
Every pick here runs in a web browser with nothing to install. We opened each one on 3 November 2026.
How we ranked them
Here a jumble game means scrambled letters you rebuild into real words. We ranked higher for a fresh puzzle on a schedule and clues that help without handing over the answer.
1. TechTwitter IO Jumble
TechTwitter IO is a free satirical daily paper about tech Twitter, and its puzzle page, section K1, carries a buzzword Jumble. Each day brings three to five scrambled words. Next to each one is a text box sized to the answer and a one-line clue written off the day's stories, so the morning of the Marvell and Lumentum story had clues such as The buyer and Lumentum's product. Press Check when you are done, or Reveal on a row you cannot crack.
It takes first place for two reasons. The page also holds Twordle, Connections, Who Tweeted It? and Real or Satire?, so one tab covers a whole break. And every back issue in the Morgue keeps its own Jumble, so a missed day is still there to play.
2. Jumble Daily
The newspaper Jumble, running since 1954, now plays online on the Chicago Tribune's games site; jumble.com sends visitors there. This is the classic two-step format: unscramble four words, then rearrange the circled letters to answer a cartoon clue, which usually ends in a pun.
3. Jumble Daily in Color
A color edition of the daily game. Its page sets out the same rules, four words on the left and a cartoon on the right, with a new puzzle each day. Pick whichever layout reads better on your screen.
4. Jumble Sunday
The Tribune describes this one as a larger format for Sunday players. It suits the slow weekend morning better than the weekday dailies do.
5. TV Jumble and Jumble for Kids
Two themed spins on the same site. TV Jumble scrambles words tied to favourite TV decades. Jumble for Kids is aimed at younger players, and the Jumble site says its weekly kids puzzle keeps to three- and four-letter words.
6. Spell Orchard on Mayavoo
Spell Orchard is a cousin of the jumble rather than a strict one. You get a wheel of letters and swipe out words that fill a small crossword. Wheels start at three letters and grow to seven across 200 levels, and bonus words you find turn into seeds for hints. It plays on desktop, mobile and tablet.

Which jumble game should you pick
If you follow tech news and want a quick daily round where the clues are half the fun, start with the TechTwitter IO puzzle page. If the pun at the end is the part you love, go to the Tribune titles instead; that final step is something the TechTwitter IO version does not have. When both dailies are done and you still want letters to push around, Spell Orchard has levels to spare.
A note on the paper: TechTwitter IO is satire. Its footer says that unless a post links to its source, the people, posts and quotes are parody or invented. The puzzles, though, are straight.
