About the game
I've always liked logic grid puzzles, so I made 200 of them and a street that fills up as you solve. Every one has a single answer and needs no guessing. Feedback welcome, be nice. Clue Street is a cosy deduction puzzle. A street of three to six houses waits for its residents, and a short list of clues tells you about them: "Ada lives next to the dog owner", "The baker's door is red", "The pilot lives somewhere left of Hal". Each resident has a name, a pet, a job, a door colour and a hobby. Use the notebook to tick the house where something must be and cross out where it can't be. Ticking a square crosses out the rest of its row and column for you, and when the last pieces are certain the notebook fills itself in with a little cascade. Every puzzle has exactly one answer, and you can always reach it by reasoning alone, with no guessing. If you get stuck, a hint explains one deduction in a plain sentence and highlights the clue it comes from. You can also check for mistakes three times per puzzle. Each solve moves a family into your street: their house lights up with its painted door, their pet sits outside, and the street grows. There are 200 puzzles across ten streets, from gentle three-house Maple Row to the expert puzzles of Starlight Avenue, plus a daily puzzle with a streak, a timer and best times. The first puzzle teaches the game step by step.
How to play
Read the clues, then mark the notebook. Tap a square once to cross it out (this item is not at that house) and again to tick it (this item is at that house); a third tap clears it. With a mouse, right-click ticks at once. Ticking crosses out the rest of the row and column automatically (you can turn this off in settings). Tap a clue to grey it out once you have used it. Hint explains the next deduction; Check shows wrong marks, three times per puzzle. Keyboard: arrows move, X crosses, V or T ticks, Backspace clears, Escape pauses. Undo takes back the last mark.
