About the game
I wanted the old hill-climb games from the driver's seat. Under the hood the physics is still flat 2D, and the 3D road is swept along it. Hold Gas off the big ramps and let go before you land. Crestline is a hill-climb driving game seen through the windscreen. The road rolls on over hills, crests, dips and ramps, and every metre counts. Hold Gas to climb, ease off before a steep hill tips you over backwards, and use Brake to slow down or tip the nose down in the air. If your roof touches the ground, the run is over. Fuel runs down as you drive, so aim for the red fuel cans along the road. Hit the ramps at speed for big air. Every third ramp is a big one: hold Gas to backflip, let go in time and land on your wheels for bonus coins. Collect the coins along the road and over the jumps, and beat your best distance on every stage. Spend coins in the garage on engine, suspension, tyre and fuel tank upgrades. There are five vehicles to drive, from the Scout 4x4 and the Hauler pickup to the Zip kart, the Old Tug tractor and the Comet racer, and five stages: Green Meadows, Maple Ridge, Sunbaked Dunes, Frost Pass and Lunar Crest, where low gravity sends you flying. Switch between the driver's seat and a chase camera at any time.
How to play
Hold Gas to drive and Brake to slow down; keep holding Brake once stopped to back up. In the air, Gas tips the nose up, Brake tips it down, and letting go steadies the car. Land on your wheels: if the roof touches the ground, the run ends. Pick up red fuel cans before the tank runs dry. Keyboard: → or D for gas, ← or A for brake, C switches the camera, M mutes, Escape pauses. On touch screens, hold the pedals in the bottom corners.
