About the game

Anyone who has queued for a ferry in Manila will know this feeling. I made a much calmer version, with animals in matching caps. Ferry Fuss is a cheerful harbour puzzle. The marina is packed with dinghies, launches and big ferries, and a queue of animals in sailor caps is waiting on the pier. Tap a boat to sail it out. Boats only go forward, bow first, so the water ahead must be clear. Each boat docks at one of five berths, and passengers whose cap matches its colour and emblem climb aboard from the front of the queue. A full boat sails away and frees its berth. If all five berths fill up with boats nobody can board, the level is lost. Every colour has its own emblem, a circle, star, triangle, square, diamond or heart, so you never have to tell colours apart. Some passengers travel in pairs and need two seats together on one boat. Fog hides a boat until its way is clear, and once per level a little tugboat can pull out a blocked boat. There are 120 levels in six harbours, from sleepy Puffin Cove to Aurora Sound under the northern lights, and every one has been checked by a solver. Keep as few boats waiting as you can for three stars. Undo, hints and restart are always at hand.

How to play

Tap or click a boat to sail it out. It moves bow first and only if the water ahead is clear. It docks at the first free berth, and passengers at the front of the queue whose cap matches its colour and emblem board it. A pair needs two seats on the same boat. A full boat leaves. Fill all five berths and the level is lost. Tugboat (once per level, costs a star): tap Tugboat, then a blocked boat. Undo and Hint: 3 each per level. Keyboard: arrows move between boats, Enter sails, T tugboat, U undo, H hint, Escape pauses.
