About the game

Carrom was the first game any of us were properly competitive at. We put the board on a café terrace and gave you three regulars to beat. Flick Board is carrom for one finger, set on a sunny outdoor café terrace. Slide your striker along the baseline, pull back like a catapult and let go. Every coin, cushion and pocket follows real physics, so a gentle tap and a full-power break behave just as you would expect. Pocket all nine of your coins before your opponent does. White coins are marked with rings and dark coins with spokes, so you can always tell them apart. The red queen, marked with a crown, is worth three points, but only if you cover her by pocketing one of your own coins straight after. Pocket the striker and it is a foul: one of your coins goes back to the centre. Play the café regulars: Milo the cat plays for fun, Juno the fox likes a cushion shot, and Professor Hoot rarely misses. Each one aims by trying out real shots, so harder opponents pick better lines and miss less. Or pass the device to a friend for a two-player game, each shooting from their own side. Then try 32 trick shots, from a first easy flick to bank shots, narrow gates and queen covers. Clear them within par for three stars. Stars and wins open three more boards, Lemon parasol, Maple deck and Lantern frost, each with its own wood, markings and terrace.

How to play

Drag the striker sideways (or use the slider) to place it on your baseline. Then press on the striker, pull back away from where you want to shoot and let go: the longer the pull, the harder the shot. The aim guide shows the line, and the ring shows the power. Pocket your own coins (white rings for you, dark spokes for the other side). Pocket the queen (crown) and then one of your coins on the next shot to cover her. Pocketing the striker is a foul. Keyboard: left and right arrows move the striker, A and D turn the aim, W and S (or up and down) set the power, Space or Enter shoots, Escape pauses.
