About the game
Mostly made on lunch breaks, again. The letters keep falling and you have to keep up. Best with the phone held upright. Wordfall is a fast word arcade set in a waterfall garden. Carved letter stones drop one at a time into a well seven columns wide. Swipe through touching stones in any direction, diagonals included, to spell a word of three or more letters. The stones shatter, everything above drops into the gaps, and stones that just dropped glow: use one in your next word to chain ×2, ×3, up to ×5. A ring in the lip of the well shows where the next stone will land, and the falls speed up every round. Columns close to the brim light up in amber and then red, so you always know where the danger is. If a stone lands on a full column, the run is over. Longer words and rarer letters score more, and long words leave special stones behind: a burst stone that clears everything around it, a wild stone that stands for any letter, and a calm stone that slows the falls. Each round has a word of the round that falls as sunlit stones; spell it in time for a big bonus. Play Classic for a high score, try the Daily well that is the same for everyone each day, or work through 72 garden levels in six gardens, from Moss Steps to Moonlit Spring, with goals like thawing frozen stones, cracking river pebbles, clearing gold and building chains. Earn up to three stars on each level and unlock new stone styles as your lifetime score grows. The word list is the public-domain ENABLE list of over 93,000 words, filtered so no offensive word is ever accepted or shown.
How to play
Swipe across touching letter stones to spell a word of 3 or more letters, then let go. Any direction works, diagonals included. You can also tap the stones one by one and tap the last one again, or type the word and press Enter. Spelled stones shatter and the stones above drop; use a glowing stone in your next word to chain. Keep every column below the red brim. Hint shows a word on the board. Keyboard: Backspace removes a letter, ? uses a hint, Escape clears the word or pauses.
